About me

Dzień dobry! I’m Ania: a local, a teacher, and a connector.

I created Polka Dots because expats need a learning space about Poland that’s inviting, honest, rich in context, and stereotype-free. My mission? To offer clear guidance, thoughtful questions, and a space to reflect – not just on Poland, but on your own cultural lens too.

After years of working in linguistic services and corporate environments across Europe, Africa, the US, and cooperating with teams across Asia & South America, I now focus on Poland and I help others make sense of it. I know what it means to land in a new country with questions, curiosity, and a culture shock!

I’m based in Wrocław, a gorgeous city in southwest Poland, shaped by centuries of Bohemian (Czech), Polish, and German influence, as well as Jewish, Hungarian, Ukrainian and Greek presence. My hometown taught me to see complexity not as confusion, but as depth.
